Data Subject Consent and Withdrawal Policy and Form

In terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013

    1. Purpose

    This Policy outlines how Emergence Growth South Africa (“the Company”) obtains, manages and records consent from Data Subjects and how Data Subjects may withdraw consent in accordance with POPIA.

    2. Scope

    This Policy applies to all Personal Information processed by the Company relating to employees, clients, suppliers and third parties.

    3. Consent Principles

    Here required, the Company will obtain consent that is:

    • Voluntary
    • Specific
    • Informed
    • Explicit

    Consent will be obtained:

    • At the start of a relationship or agreement
    • When collecting Personal Information
    • When processing purposes change
    • Where required by law

    4. Purpose Of Processing

    Data Subjects will be informed of:

    • What Personal Information is collected
    • The purpose of processing
    • Who the information may be shared with
    • Retention periods
    • Their rights under POPIA

    5. Withdrawal Of Consent

    A Data Subject may withdraw consent at any time by submitting a written request.

    Withdrawal may be subject to:

    • Legal or contractual obligations
    • Record retention requirements

    Upon withdrawal, the Company will:

    • Stop processing where lawful to do so
    • Inform the Data Subject of any consequences
    • Confirm action taken

    Data Subjects have the right to:

    • Access Personal Information
    • Request correction or deletion
    • Object to processing
    • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator
