Opt Out Policy
In terms of Section 69 of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013
1. Purpose
This Policy sets out how Emergence Growth South Africa (“the Company”) enables Data Subjects to opt-out of receiving direct marketing communications in compliance with POPIA.
2. Scope
This Policy applies to all electronic marketing communications sent to:
- Customers
- Prospects
- Suppliers
- Employees (where applicable)
3. Principle
The Company respects the right of Data Subjects to:
- Decline marketing (opt-out) at any time
- Withdraw previously given consent
4. Opt-Out Mechanisms
All direct marketing communications will include:
- A clear unsubscribe link; or
- Instructions to opt-out via email
Data Subjects may opt-out by:
- Clicking the unsubscribe link in communications
- Emailing: [email protected]
5. Processing Of Opt-Out Requests
The Company will:
- Action opt-out requests promptly
- Update marketing databases accordingly
- Ensure no further marketing is sent after opt-out
6. No Penalisation
Opting out will not affect:
- Existing services
- Contracts
- Business relationships
7. Record Keeping
The Company will maintain a suppression list of Data Subjects who have opted out to ensure compliance.
8. Third Parties
Where third parties process marketing on behalf of the Company:
- They must honour opt-out requests
- They must not contact opted-out individuals
9. Compliance
All employees must:
- Respect opt-out requests
- Not override or ignore suppression lists
